Kagus is a Moclan advocate from the planet Moclus. He successfully represents Klyden to change the sex of Bortus and Klyden's child from female to male.
History[]
Advocate Kagus is assigned as Klyden's legal counsel in October 2419, arguing for sex reassignment of Klyden's daughter, Topa. He squares off against Commander Kelly Grayson representing Bortus.
At Tribunal, Kagus argues that to allow Topa to remain female would be to deprive her of a full and satisfying life in Moclan society. Captain Ed Mercer later calls him a "colossal dick" for his confrontational approach.
Toward the end of the Tribunal, Kelly calls a surprise witness, Heveena, an adult Moclan female. When she quotes the works of Gondus Elden, a revered novelist, Kagus rebukes her: "You dare to bastardize the words of Gondus Elden to serve your own purposes? If he were here, he would spit on you for that!" Heveena reveals herself to be Gondus Elden, and Kagus is shocked.
Nevertheless, Kagus wins in court. The arbitration council finds insufficient cause to enjoin the sex reassignment procedure.
