Horbalak were a space-flight capable species from the same quadrant as the Planetary Union. At least some Horbalak had a reputation for interstellar smuggling.
Biology[]
The Horbalak were a short, rotund species with humanoid attributes. They appear to have had white eyes, pale skin, tufts of hair toward the back of the head, and pointed ears.[2]
Culture[]
The Horbalak were described as an "aggressive and rude" species, with little regard for regulations and authority.[3] For example, when Captain Ed Mercer attempted to warn Blavaroch of a dangerous spatial anomaly, the Horbalak captain dismissed the warning as a Union trick and insulted the crew: "I don't take orders from Union goons."[2]
Helmsman Gordon Malloy stated that Horbalaks make the best ice cream, far superior to a Food Synthesizer, due in large part to using stimulants in it.[4]
