Thank you for voting on the Staff Guidelines consensus, I really appreciate it. However, another consensus has recently arisen that involves mainspace editing. Since you've been contributing on a frequent basis as of late maybe, if you have the time, maybe you can give your input on the matter.
Hey Thermoman, I really appreciate your enthusiasm regarding quotes. However, I've had to revert more than one of your edits regarding them since the dialogue your adding doesn't really the explain the characters or concepts well.
When adding a quote in the future try to pick something that explains the article in an objective, non-abrasive manner. For example on the Hamelac page a quote about him ruling over the Bioship would be more appropriate than the one previously added, which simply called him a "dick" without much else.
Feel free to contact me or answer this message if you want to talk about this more. My door is always open.
I admit when adding quotes to this wiki I, inspired by those found on others such as the Stargate Wiki, tend to reflect the comedic side of The Orville. I get what you're saying but surely explaining the subject is the work of the article itself. What would be alternative quotes for minor articles such as Hamelac and Avis?
The Avis page may likely be deleted/merged soon, so perhaps adding a quote there might not be a top priority. As for Hamelac, I honestly can't remember a lot of what was said by or about him in If the Stars Should Appear. But even though the Stargate Wiki likes to emphasize humorous quotes, that's not really how we do things here, especially in regards to largely serious concepts.
I'm going to try and look into something that would better fit the Hamelac page. I also want to say your quote on the Dann page is completely applicable. Even though it's humorous the character himself only really exists to tell a running joke, and it describes his place in the show well. Keep that up! :)
